This new 330-bed facility was based on a new combined direct / indirect supervision podular operational model that maximized staffing efficiencies, minimized response times, and improved inmate supervision, while reducing capital and operating costs. Safety and security are optimized with a greatly reduced reliance on electronic surveillance. Inmate access to programs, recreation and visits is practically unlimited without increasing the demand on staffing. Inmate movement beyond the living unit is virtually eliminated.
The project was completed at $2.5 million under budget while saving more than $13 million per year in operating and capital amortization costs.
