This project is the planning phase of Shanghai's bid proposal for the World Expo 2010. The site location selected for the fair is on each side of the Huangpu River, bounded on the east by the Nanpu Bridge and on the West by the Lupu Bridge. The site area is 4.5 square kilometres. The circle is the focus of the concept. Eight towers evenly distributed around the perimeter to the space within the circle support this concept. The inspiration has heritage roots in the Shanghai ancient rampart, the circular canal-belts that connect all parts of the architectural elements into one body |
