Client: Canada Forestry Innovation Investment Company

The Dream Home China Project (DHCP), is associated with the Forestry Innovation Investment Company, that manages and supports programs and design initiatives to increase the value of the forestry assets, on behalf of the Government of British Columbia. The DHCP project proposes introduction to the Chinese construction industry of the construction of a wood-frame demonstration project in a high-profile location in a major Chinese city. The three-year plan is a programmed comprehensive approach to the promotion of BC building products and wood-frame construction techniques. The demonstration project includes types of wood construction in single and multi-family residential structures, interior and exterior wood finished products, and some non-residential construction applications. The centre-piece of the plan is a 894 m2 multi-purpose presentation centre. The centre highlights advanced wood technologies and heavy timber wood products in its construction, and includes space for demonstrations of BC commodity and value-added forest products, offices, space for receptions, and training and related commercial services. The site is fully landscaped, and profiles suitable BC wood products.
